I was under the care of Mr Osman-Farah for Trigeminal Neuralgia, due to the covid pandemic I never met him in person until the day of surgery, all my consultations prior had been via the phone. Even from our telephone consultations I felt I was in safe hands and felt listened too and he understood the impact this condition had on my daily life. Options were offered to me and then my decision to choose MVD surgery was respected. I must mention his secretary Louise who was always so very helpful and kind when I contacted her. Post surgery I developed some complications whilst at home and there was a delay in my local hospital referring me back to The Walton Centre but once there I was taken back to theatre and the care I received was excellent. Post op at home again I experienced some pain issues and through contacting Louise I was immediately contacted by the registrar and then very surprised that 7pm that night Mr Osman-Farah himself contacted me to see how I was, little things like that mean the world to a patient. Despite the post op issues which were risks of the surgery and explained to me pre-op I have no regrets as I have my life back and have nothing but praise for Mr Osman-Farah and his team for the excellent care I had whilst at The Walton Centre. Thank you all of you.

Relationship between patients and clinicians is for me very important. Complications can occur and is very important that access to clinicians is present at all time. I am pleased that we were able to provide good care for you. Thanks for your honest review.

Mr Farah assessed my condition with care, understanding how it affected my daily life and work and offered me a solution that has worked. He was clear about what could happen during the recovery period which has been very helpful. Not only his skill during the operation but all of his staff could not be faulted and I feel so lucky to have had the treatment he offered.

Mr Farah performed brain tumour resection on myself in sep 22. I couldn’t be more thankful to Mr Farah and his team for the treatment I have received, I feel he has given me a second chance at life and will be forever grateful. I am now nearly 3 weeks post op with a long road ahead and many more appointments to follow with Mr Farah and the team. I feel blessed and grateful to be under the care of Mr Farah.

Initially I was nervous and apprehensive regarding the DBS surgery, in that it was a new procedure and I was the first to undergo this life changing operation in the UK. After consultation with Mr Farrah, I was put at ease, and convinced this would make a huge difference to my day to day life, it would not only enable me to have a more normal working life, but would hopefully allow me to enjoy a much more fulfilling relationship with my grandchildren, without feeling embarrassed about my condition with Parkinson's. On the day of the Pre - OP surgery, we arrived at Walton and were seen by Heather and the DBS team, the Pre - Op went well and all systems were given the green light. We returned for the Surgery and Mr Farrah then explained the surgery in detail and gave us a step by step insight into what was going to happen. This put my mind at ease and I felt reassured and was excited and nervous at the same time for the surgery to start. The surgery itself took several hours, I was awake/semi conscious for the whole time and this was necessary so the team could monitor my brain activity and responses to simple tasks as the implants were tested. During the surgery I was still nervous and apprehensive as you would expect, but I was constantly reassured by Mr Farrah the DBS team that everything was going as planned and that I was responding well. The next week I returned to have the Medtronic Implant positioned into my chest, this was believe it or not was more uncomfortable than the brain surgery. But again everything went well and the team performed, as always brilliantly. The aftercare provided by Mr Farrah and the DBS team, as well as Doctor Macerollo has been exemplary at every stage, my care is still ongoing and will be for the remainder of my life. On a personal note I would like to thank them all from the bottom of my heart, my life has improved massively, I enjoy doing things, normal people take for granted and although I have Parkinson's, it no longer prohibits me doing the things I love to do. I feel ever so lucky to have been given the opportunity to trial this ground breaking surgery.

I was first diagnosed as a case Parkinson’s disease in 2009 . Over the next 13 years I progressively deteriorated with tremor , slow movement , sleep problem and walking difficulty. Sometimes I had severe difficulty while eating and even doing my buttons . But my has totally changed since Mr Farah did DBS ( deep brain stimulation) operation . Not only it has almost stopped my tremor and slowness and other problems but I’ve now been able to stop medication almost to bare minimum. I feel I’ve turned a corner in my life . Dr. Farah has truly given me a new lease of life .
